CLASSES (OTHER THAN SPANISH)

Ongoing Conversation Classes | Current | Prospective

These are the classes in languages other than Spanish that CHICLE is presently holding or offering. All classes are small and conversation focused. After each course's completion, we offer a continuation of the course, usually on the same day and time. We must have at least three students signed up to hold a course.

The basic language classes usually meet once a week for an hour and a half over a six week session, for a total of nine hours. We use a variety of published materials for these classes. Groups often continue to meet over multiple sessions, moving at a comfortable pace. Cost for a six week session is $170 plus the cost of materials. We try to keep material costs to $20 or less.

The group conversation classes meet once a week for one hour. The cost is $16 an hour. We ask interested students to let us know at the beginning of each month which classes they think they will be able to attend. We then ask them to pay for the month at the the first class of the month. We must have three students each week to hold the class.

We are happy to create a new class at any level and in many languages. Because we are small and flexible, we can be fairly responsive to requests. If you don't see a course below that you are interested in, please contact us. As we live in an area that is rich in diversity, we can find teachers for a wide variety of languages. We can try to form a group class at a time that is convenient to you.

If you want to study a language, and we don't have enough people to form a group or the scheduled time doesn't work for you, we offer private lessons. Days and times for these are flexible and the cost is $40/hour. Classes for two students cost $30/hour per student. We have found it difficult to offer group classes for some of our languages. These include Arabic, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Mandarin, and Russian. If you are interested in one of these languages, we hope you will consider private classes.

If the times or the days listed for the "Being scheduled" courses don't work for you, call us. We can try to make adjustments. Both we and our students are flexible.
