While we know that the best way to immerse yourself in another language is by traveling
to a country where that language is spoken, we often try to simulate that experience
here in North Carolina.
CHICLE offers 1-week 30-hour advanced intensive courses
for Spanish teachers during the summer. The class
is scheduled for the weeks of June 23rd, July 7th, and August 4th in 2008. It meets
from 9:30-4:30 Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break. The cost is $500. This
is very popular and attracts teachers from around the state. If you or your school

We require a minimum of five students and a maximum of ten for this course.
"My colleague and I had a wonderful time at CHICLE last summer during
our week-long Spanish immersion class for Spanish teachers! The instructors made
us feel very comfortable and classes were lively and fun! It was great to see how
much our Spanish improved after just a week of intensive practice. We plan to participate
again next summer!"
We also tailor intensive sessions for specific professions or workplaces. We have
held such courses for Mental Health and Social Service workers and for Family Practice
medicine residents (pictured above).

on weekends, or two or three days long. We are flexible and able to meet your needs.
We occasionally offer our 4-week 16-hour Spanish courses in one 5-day 3.5 hours
period. We offer these courses in the summer primarily, but also at other holiday
times when people have a week free. If you have any interest in this, contact us
and let us know when you can take such a class. We'll see if we can find other students
at your level to fill out a class. We will post a schedule here when an intensive
session is being offered.
